Newquay Choral Society Easter Concert
MORE than 100 people packed into St Michael’s Church on Good Friday to enjoy music from Newquay Choral Society. The society was joined by Porthleven Chamber Orchestra for the annual Good Friday Concert. The audience enjoyed works by two choral composers – Hummel’s Mass in C and Mozart’s Requiem.
The choral society and orchestra were joined by soprano Rachel Peters, contralto Sue Lancaster, tenor Ben Hoadley and, a good friend to the society, bass John Hobbs. David Burleigh, the society’s musical director, said he was pleased with the performance: ’Orchestral players have been in great demand this spring and putting together the orchestra has been challenging!“
