Santa has teamed up with St Newlyn East Band to get the first of a series of special festive days at Lappa Valley Steam Railway underway which are sure to appeal to young and old alike.
Lappa Valley, the BIG litte railway near Newquay, is running afternoon Santa Special train rides on the weekend of 15-16 December, Wed 19, Thurs 20 and Saturday 22 December and there will be fun for everyone including pressies for the youngsters who meet Santa in his special grotto. A series of special Christmas Shopping Days is also underway on the run-up to the big day. On Wednesday/Thurs 5-6, Sunday 9, Wed/Thurs 12-13, and Tuesday 18 December there will be a FREE steam train ride if you shop at Lappa Valley and spend over £20 making the day even more fun and great value for the whole family. Trains run from 1.30pm.

In addition to the special attractions, each afternoon on shopping and Santa days at 4.15 there will be special Christmas Lights train rides in the dusk - an atmospheric spectacular which everyone is sure to love.
In addition: Renowned local artist Kim Hohlweg puts the finishing touches to her latest work entitled ´The Beast of Bodmin´ which shows a large wild cat resting amongst the tors on Bodmin Moor. Kim, from Indian Queens, said "It was the idea of my bother, Roy, who will be opening an arts and crafts shop in Padstow next February and who thought the idea may appeal to those visiting the shop". The painting, will be available as limited edition prints as well as the original being on sale. It is the latest in a long line of wildlife paintings by Kim who has won awards and acclaim for her artwork over the past few years.
