A £5,000 square shelter near the skateboard park at St Columb Major has been built after requests from the town's young people.
Treviglas Community College dressed-down on Friday 2 February 2007 to support the RNLI's SOS Day. They raised £220.00 for the charity.

A group of campaigners in Newquay appealed to residents to support their efforts to save the town's open spaces from the hands of developers. Quintrell Downs residents voiced their concerns at plans for a 14 metre telecommunications mast due to be erected on the outskirts of Newquay. Local councillors Gary Redman, Harry Heywood and Patrick Lambshead listened to their concerns.

Local professional dance teacher Fiona Barclay launched auditions to find what could be the next big thing in hip-hop in February 2007. CREW 24 will be the only hip-hop and street dance troupe in Cornwall.
Agnes Burgess celebrated her 99th birthday in early February 2007. She was born in Respryn in 1908 and moved to Newquay when she was 16. She married Henry Roberts, a shoemaker, and they lived in Porth. They had 3 children, two daughters and a son. Agnes now lives at Hollybush Residential Home in Newquay.
