Funky Freestyle Dancing for all ages is what Cornish-based South African dance teacher Marci Pearce has been providing to classes totalling over 100 in the Helston area since moving to Cornwall three years ago - and now she is hoping that her unique style of dance and fitness routines will appeal in Newquay.Marci, who has a degree in Drama and Dance, worked originally as a freelance teacher in schools but quickly realised the potential and appeal of what she was developing - particularly amongst young people."This type of dance really helps people to build confidence big time" said Marci as she introduced herself at the first new class being held at Newquay's Heron Tennis Centre indoor facility. The combination of hip-hop combined with circus acrobatics and funky freestyle is something which really inspires and looks great in shows."But there is something for everyone and we like to follow new trends as they develop and show that anyone can be a dancer" she said."I love the vibrant lifestyle in Newquay and that's what I'd like to contribute to".The classes take place each Tuesday evening at The Heron Centre in Trenance Park with classes for those under 12 being held from 6-7pm and over 12s from 7-8pm. Cost is £5 per session with the first class half price. No need to book - just come along. For further information Marci can be contacted on 077 902 29426 or marci_hart7@hotmail.com
