Peter Bragg and RNLI helmsman Kevin Gee received a letter of thanks from the RNLI in recognition of their bravery during a difficult rescue. Two service certificates were also presented to crew members who have now left the RNLI Martin Gilbert served on the lifeboat for 22 years and Sandra Beckerleg performed nearly 12 and a half years of service.
Newquay In Bloom Partnership is aiming for gold in this years South West in Bloom competition following last years silver gilt. Mayor, deputy mayors, borough and town councillors joined the partnership at the Crantcok bay Hotel for a presentation from one of the judges, Terry Porter, who gave advice on how to achieve the coveted goal.
The falcon Inn's charity open mic night proved to be a real scream for drumming landlord Andy Marshall as the event recieved great backing from local music lovers. The evening raised £700 for Cornwall Hospice Care.
