The EU Commissioner for regional policy, Danuta Hubner, has complimented on two of its Objective One boosted projects - Newquay Cornwall Airport and the Fifteen Cornwall Restaurant as "exceptional ways of fostering a modern and innovative economy".
Crantock Village near Newquay held its annual fiesta on Tuesday 3 July 2007. Paul Johnson, one of the organisers, confirmed that the event had raised around £4,000 for local charities including the Merlin Project, NSPCC and Cancer Research UK.
Paulo's Americano Circus' number one fan Dawn Graham has received a surprise visit from three clowns - Kakehole, Popol and Mini-Me after campaigning hard to try and save the show. Dawn had started a petition last year when new legislation had threatened to restrict the advertising of the circus.
Three holiday makers were left in a spin when their hire card flipped on its roof while reversing on Mon 9 July 2007. The incident happened while they were leaving Porth Beach, Newquay en route to St Ives. "The driver attempted to reverse the car to his left and the Citroen just flipped" said an on-looker.
