Pilot Gig builder Ralph Bird saw his last gig launched at Newquay Harbour on Saturday 6 October 2007 accompanied by well-wishers who brought the other 28 gigs he had built over the past 30+ years along as well!
Held at Newquay Harbour on 21-22 September 2007 and won by Caradon A crew.

The Cornwall Championships for Ladies Pilot Gig Rowing took place at Newquay Harbour on Sat/Sun 8-9 September 2007. The winners were Falmouth with Caradon coming runners-up.
The County Finals of the U16s Pilot Gig Championships took place at Newquay on Sunday 9 September 2007. Fowey A won the title with Padstow coming runners-up. Padstow won the Tribute Series trophy for amassing most points over three races during the season.
