In addition special thanks were due to the following people who gave their time and effort to support the event: Newquay Deputy Mayor Councillor Linda Cherry, Newquay Fire Station for their help and fire engine display, St John Ambulance for their help and attendance, All the Lions Clubs of West and Mid Cornwall for their help and support in the organisation and support on the day (some 40 Lion volunteers on the day), not to mention the scores of carers who made sure that all those attending enjoyed their time at the fair to the full. The sun shone and every one had a great day – over 450 attended from all over Cornwall and the Lions provided shelter, light refreshments hot and cold drinks throughout.Bill Rudd said ’This was a great day and we were delighted the weather stayed dry for everyone to enjoy the rides.’’David and Ann Rowland are always very generous in supporting such worthwhile events and their staff give all their time for nothing – we are very grateful’.Presentations were made to Mr David Rowland and his wife Ann Rowland from The Lions Clubs as a thank you for their continued support and the likelihood of another successful day in 2008!
